In the second round of the Fonbet Russian Championship – Premier League, held in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, the reigning champions UMMC bounced back from a difficult first quarter to secure a commanding 98–62 victory over Dynamo Moscow.

Quarter scores: 21–25, 28–10, 21–14, 28–13

The opening quarter was tense and physical. Dynamo came out aggressive, trading baskets with UMMC and eventually building a four-point lead that silenced the home crowd. When the visitors stretched the margin to eight points, head coach Dmitrii Donskov called a timeout that swung the momentum. Bentley answered with a three-pointer, while Klyundikova established control in the paint and on the defensive glass. Still, the Moscow team closed the quarter ahead, 25–21.

The Foxes raised their intensity in the second quarter. Nogic opened the period with a three-pointer, and Bentley followed with another shot from beyond the arc as the league leaders seized the initiative. Dynamo head coach Vladimir Shtam called a timeout to slow the run, but UMMC continued to execute on both ends of the floor. Bentley and Tretyakova converted perimeter shots, while the defense disrupted Dynamo’s rhythm. The visitors scored just 10 points in the quarter, and UMMC extended their lead to 49–35 by halftime.

The third quarter effectively decided the game. Within the first two minutes, UMMC’s lead reached 20 points while Dynamo struggled with turnovers and foul trouble. Nizamova hit a three, and the Yekaterinburg team capitalized on fast-break opportunities to maintain full control. Heading into the final quarter, the scoreboard read 70–49, with the defending champions already looking ahead to their next challenge.

In the fourth quarter, the hosts didn’t ease off and turned the game into a rout. The lead grew past 30 points, the crowd called for a show, and Dmitrii Donskov’s players delivered with strong drives and long-range shots. The only remaining question was whether the Foxes could reach 100 points, but they fell just two short. Still, the final score of 98–62 was more than convincing.

UMMC’s next game will be on the road in Vidnoje: on February 19, they will face Sparta & K. Tip-off is scheduled for 18:00 (MSK).
