UMMC began their home campaign in the Russian Premier League with a convincing 84–47 win over the Vladimir Lionesses. The home team took control from the opening minutes, quickly turned the contest into a one-sided affair and put the game out of reach by halftime. Maria Klyundikova recorded a double-double.

Quarter scores: 25–9, 19–13, 21–14, 19–11

The Yekaterinburg team opened the scoring, and just two minutes later they had a 10–2 lead as Dmitrii Donskov’s squad came out at a high tempo and forced the visitors to call a timeout. After the one-minute break, the Lionesses tried to stay in the game, but the Foxes continued to gain momentum on offense. The Lionesses struggled to score, managing just two points over the next five minutes, while UMMC methodically extended their lead. By the end of the first quarter, the margin had reached 16 points at 25–9.

The second quarter was less high-scoring, but that did little to concern the Yekaterinburg team, as their early cushion was more than enough. Three-pointers from Tretyakova, Walker, Papova and Bentley stretched the Lionesses’ defense, while the home team controlled the glass and the pace with confidence. The Premier League newcomers tried to respond, but the gap continued to grow. The teams headed into the locker rooms with the reigning champions holding a commanding 44–22 advantage.

After the break, UMMC went on a 7–0 run to start the third quarter. Any remaining suspense had disappeared well before the final period, and another three-pointer from Bentley pushed the Foxes’ lead to 33 points. The final minute of the quarter was particularly fitting: Levchenko knocked down a three, making it 65–36 before the fourth, with every UMMC player getting on the scoresheet.

The fourth quarter was essentially a formality, but the Lionesses continued to fight until the final buzzer. UMMC remained firmly in control without having to exert themselves, comfortably protecting their sizeable cushion, while the visitors kept looking for opportunities from beyond the arc. Kramar connected from deep late in the game, but UMMC never allowed the Premier League newcomers to put together even a brief run and wrapped up their first home game of the season with a convincing 84–47 victory.

UMMC: Klyundikova (17 points, 10 rebounds), Bentley and Maiga (11 points each).

Vladimir Lionesses: Rainey (9 points), Nikulochkina (7).

The Foxes’ next game will be at home. On October 12, they will face Dynamo Novosibirsk at DIVS Arena, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
